Maybe college isn’t the best choice because of the cost, the debt it will create, or the teen’s interests or goals.
Taking a gap year to experiment with internships, community college, shadowing, or working will help young adults uncover what they are passionate about and what they would like to do for a career. As T. K. Coleman says, “Introspection doesn’t help us uncover what we are passionate about. Practical experience does!”
