We are getting more and more reviews of online products and apps. These kinds of resources are a bit more challenging in terms of making great photos. But it can be done!
I want to encourage you to not merely rely on screenshots but use PERSONAL images in your posts. iHN reviews should not be kid-less. Even those for actual physical products should never rely solely on bookstack images or photos of open pages. Now, those are GREAT and necessary types of photos. Screenshots are not bad. But they are not personal. They do not demonstrate that YOU really used this with your kids and love it. That’s the message we are trying to convey.
Here are WONDERFUL examples of photos from reviews of digital products. Click the image to go to the post.
Kids reading in the background. Gorgeous floral bouquet! We see mom’s view, as she works in her digital planner.
Pretty planner + coffee = winning combination!
Notice that some great images have hands only. This method is great for those tweens and teens who refuse to have their photo posted on the blog!) But they are still personal. THAT is what we are going for.
Look at how easy this is. Just get your kid to pose with the app. Simple! And so cute! Feel free to copy Tina’s great idea in your post.
